Dee Niette Thompson

Dee Niette Thompson, the historian and archivist of the Adai Caddo Tribe, retired from Avaya Communications after pursuing computer science education at LSU and Louisiana Tech Barksdale. In her tenure at Avaya, she computerized the tribal rolls, transforming them into accessible records. Currently, she is in the process of digitizing the petition and petition books, crucial for documentation purposes, and manages the ancestry database.

Beyond her tribal responsibilities, Dee served on the Southern Hills Homeowners board, holding the position of President for six years. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of the Northwest Family Justice Center, providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. The center offers comprehensive support, including medical aid, legal assistance, clothing, shelter, and resources to help individuals embark on a new life. Dee’s involvement extended to her roles as an altar server and PSR teacher at St. Mary Of the Pines and Sacred Heart Catholic Church for several years.

Dee expresses that serving the members of the tribe brings her pleasure, and research remains her passion. She considers it an honor to contribute to the well-being of her people.
